My thoughts are biased because I’m a huge Mason Jennings fan. But it sounds like Mason found some peace between Boneclouds and In The Ever. He’s found a way to address issues with his characteristic charm and honesty without all the seriousness and awkwardness of his previous album. Fans will be pleased to hear a new version of Fighter Girl and a live track, last tour’s crowd pleaser Your New Man. Mason’s returned to some of his classic melodies familiar to fans of his early bootlegs. I Love You And Buddha Too is fucking catchy as hell. Memphis, Tennessee is so pure and sweet. Soldier Boy is surprisingly rockin’. In The Ever is genuine Mason – without pretense, endearing.
