WORTH CONSUMING!

If you watch the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith (also with Brad Pitt) — a scene in the latter part of the movie the two of them are interrogating a dude and he’s wearing a Fight Club t-shirt.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie is the first in a long, long time to actually suprise me with its plot twists. Literally, I did not see it coming AT ALL. It just leaves your mind reeling.

Besides that, this is a powerful film that can be enjoyed on many levels. I was taking a psychology course when I saw this — it was fun to analyze the main character’s mind.

It’s one of those movies that’s actually more fun the more you watch it, I think. I’ve seen it three times and I’m still seeing new things about it.

Anyone who dislikes Brad Pitt needs to see this film. “Fight Club” changed my entire opinion on him, and now I find myself defending his acting whereas before, I hated everything about him.

Plus, Brad Pitt covered in blood and laughing like a maniac = hot. Sorry, it had to be said.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Fight Club is one of the best directed movies I’ve seen. So much happens in every scene, the dialog, the background -you can watch the movie a dozen times and still notice something new every time (Try listening to the track commentary on the special edition for a few pointers).

Philosophically, there are ideas that can be taken out of the story; the distruction of corporate and consumer ideals. People misunderstand; It’s not about fighting or violence, its about rejecting the identification of ourselves by our job or by what we consume (Identity is also Jack’s crisis). The story doesn’t say what we need -it has more to say about what we don’t.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I already knew about the ending and everything, but have wanted to see it for a while anyway. I shyed away from it though since people were always raving about how great it was, and talking about how the guy that wrote the book is “God” and all that bullshit. Any cult of people that say anything to that extent bug the crap out of me, same thing goes for that Donnie Darko movie, which I have yet to see, and don’t intend on it.

Anyway, that’s besides the point. This movie was different for some reason and I actually had a desire to see it. It wasn’t incredible and it didn’t change my life to any extent, but it was enjoyable, yet, a little long. It’s worth the watch.

fun to watch a second time too. It’s a different movie after you’ve seen it once.
