WORTH CONSUMING!
This was one of the better books I’ve read lately. I liked the language, a third-person narration that’s too close to the mind of Willie Dunne – a young Irish soldier fighting the WW1 and caught in the personal and social conflicts associated with it – to be anyone but him. The story is sad and at times tense (as any war story would be), but still filled with sweet moments of humanity and hope.
