Growing up being the only girl, having two brothers and one television, I had no say on what to watch since I was always outvoted. My older brother made friends with our local video rental places and always got free videos when he rented out some. And without a fail, there would always be a Star Wars movie or any of George Lucas’ movies (or Spielberg’s) in one of his freebies. So before we watched the video, one of the tv channels was showing the same movie. We of course watched the video. After watching it. Star Wars V was still playing on tv because of all the commercials. Guess what my brothers wanted to watch after the video? Yes, I got outvoted again. We watched Star Wars V that was still playing on tv that night.

So I guess what I’m trying to say is that if it wasn’t for my brothers, I wouldn’t be a Star Wars fan.

I hated this movie when I first saw it. This was back in the day, when it had first been released and we trooped to it in eager anticipation, ready for the follow up to the original Star Wars. And the movie ends with the rebel alliance in shambles and Han Solo in deep freeze! Aarrgh! And considering how long we had to wait for Episode II (now Episode V) after Episode I (now Episode IV), it was entirely such a dissatisfying thing for George to do to us!!

Of course, now I have it all on DVD and can watch them anytime I want in any order I want without waiting and I got over all this long ago. So now I like the movie.
