Columbo was never a regular series, but the seventh season marked the end of the show appearing on television. Though there were special episodes occasionally during the 80s, this is the culmination of Columbo as it was known in the 70s.
It took me half a dozen attempts to watch the first episode with guest star William Shatner, but that’s one of the things I always liked about the show (it puts me to sleep). Most of the other episodes are quite gripping. “The Conspirators” tackles the issue of terrorists in Northern Ireland.
I enjoy the decorating ideas that I remember from my childhood. Every time I see red shag carpet I’m transported to my grandparent’s basement! I certainly miss the avocado appliances and burnt orange hue to fabrics.
Of course, the real reason to watch Columbo is Peter Falk. He’s as cunning as ever as Lt. Columbo. This has to be one of the best detective shows of all time!
