WORTH CONSUMING!

When Lost premiered, I was really into it. I was in college, in North Carolina, and my grandmother watched it religiously in Texas. I’d call her every Wednesday night after the show was over and we’d discuss it.

Well, both of us have kind of given up. I think what turned us off was the end of Season 3 when—highlight hidden spoiler, please—Charlie dies.

But after a quick glance at the beginning of the episode that was on last week—Season 5 already?—my interest has been renewed. I’m taking advantage of ABC’s online player, which has every episode from every season available for viewing.

I don’t watch TV… but this has just ruined my life. Addiction is a terrible thing. Terrible!

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is the second time I’ve seen the first season. I am now introducing my boyfriend to it (he introduced me to ‘House’) and we get to see it in a movie-like environment, making it a little newer to me, too. We watched the first disc last night. I can’t wait to watch the second season!

A question I have about this — 3 years ago

I just don’t get it- I’m watching season 2 but only in my spare time. I think this show is overhyped and I seem to be missing the point. With so many other great shows out there I think this one can go to the wayside without me missing it. I thought for a long itme I was missing out but not watching them first run. Maybe the ease of ebing able to watch them back to back ruins some of the intrigue of waiting week after week. But unless your bored I really wouldn’t recommend this.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a great series. It is melodramatic at times and occasionally ridiculous, but it’s really well done. The character development is extensive and the show is so multi-layered. The interesections between characters through time, including the flash backs, is well handled. I highly recommend it.

Near the end of watching Season 1 I discovered that Season 2 won’t be available on DVD until October. Yikes! So I went online and discovered that the last 5 episodes of Season 2 are available free on ABC.com as streaming media. Note that is only available through the end of June 2006! But, the entire season is available through iTunes for $34.99 (or $1.99/episode). I opted to shell out the bucks and do that since I have an iPod and am leaving on vacation tomorrow. :-)

WORTH CONSUMING!

This series is so damn addictive that we rarely watch fewer than four episodes in a sitting and I want to watch it every day. We started watching the first season about a week ago and we’ve now watched 16 of the 24 episodes. It’s hard toimagine they can sustain the level of intrigue and the quality into additional seasons, but as Benjamin commented yesterday, it is show with incredible character development so there is a lot of room to delve deep for more substance.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Could this show mean to reflect the world back to us but in the guise of a speculative fiction (sf) TV series?
Well, I’ll see if that still fits when I see Season 2.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This has got to be one of the best shows ever. It has a fantastic cast, each with their own different storylines. This is a show where personalities clash and we see realities of the world through the survivors of Oceanic flight 815. We see birth, death, friendship, love, different cultures, obesity and people from all walks of life come together. A doctor, a criminal, a single mum, a single father, a guitarist, a man working for a box company, a child and a millionaire. Many ponder the secrets of the lost island, trying to piece together clues and messages, to discover the answer to the question “what is going on?”

WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s really breathtaking tv series and it seems that the really dangerous thing isn’t the nature of any disaster but human being. Now I’m watching the 10th episode (by downloading) and kinda tired of the old trick: never complete a whole sentence and keep flashing back to what these people did before plane crash, which is not quite important for me…and main characters in recent episodes are kinda out of their minds, always yelling at each other. Sometimes if they can calm down and think it over, most problems can be solved out and no need to run a risk. I like the 1st season much more.

What’s up with the political philosophy angle to the names? We have a once crippled John Locke and a crazy French lady named Rousseau cast away on a tropical island. It is no coincidence. Is this just some nod toward social contract theory or is there anything more to it?

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’ve watched, and rewatched, and I still can’t wait until the next episode comes out. It’s like peeling an onion, one layer at a time. When I get to the middle will I be satisfied, or will it all have been a waste of time?
