Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming this — 2 years ago

If I actually had all of the West Wing DVDs on hand, I would probably just stay in my house and watch them back to back. When I get them through Netflix, I end up watching an entire disk in a night regardless of what time I have to get up the next day.

A story about this — 3 years ago

I just got Season 2 of the West Wing on DVD and have been enjoying some of the older episodes. I’ve also been enjoying John Spencer (Leo), who died of a heart attack earlier this month and wondering where they will go with the show without him.

I’ve been thinking about it and I know that I have enjoyed few episodes of the show as much as The Stackhouse Filibuster in Season Two. That was a well-written episode. I would like to see the show go back to being humorous about serious things. This year the show just seems a little stale, even with the addition of new cast members.

Anyone else have a favorite episode??

WORTH CONSUMING!

The West Wing is my favorite tv drama ever. If politics and witty humor are your thing, then this show is a must see.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This has been a wonderful show from the beginning. The primary writer, Aaron Sorkin, left the show about a season and a half ago. Some people think it’s gotten worse since then. I’m undecided. I have mixed feelings about the direction the show has taken this season, but with the two term limits for president they were going to have to make a change to maintain a semblance of reality. I was appalled when they said Jimmy Smitts was coming on the show, but he has significantly surpassed my expectations. His character is essentially the Howard Dean of the West Wing world. It would be incredibly satisfying if he were to become the next president on the show. My husband predicts that the John McCain-like moderate Republican candidate, played by Alan Alda. Despite my affection for Alan Alda, I hope he’s wrong. I can’t take any more Republicans in power, real or not.

WORTH CONSUMING!

... thanks to wonderful acting and some of the wittiest, sharpest dialogue I’ve ever heard. Jed Bartlet for President!
