I have to watch it because I have to submit a reaction paper about it, so it’s not like I whole-heartedly want to watch it.
The one thing that strucks me the most is how audacious the characters are. There are just some parts in the movie (nay, maybe all of them) that I wouldn’t dream of doing.
I thought Julia is good, even though I hate the actress.
Natalie Portman is very adorable and I think she played her part well. Clive Owen scares me in some scenes in the movie hahaha. Does this show how good he was in the film?

The very beginning and the very end were the best, however, the end kind of just ended. It wasn’t one of those “happily ever after” stories. The acting was pretty good, but I hated the characters they played. Although the characters Jude Law and Natalie Portman played were funny in some ways, and had more personality, they, along with Julia Roberts and the other guy were as shallow as a puddle. The story kept jumping around and never really achieved anything.

Now that I’m back in Boston I’ve reclaimed my Netflix queue and have started watching movies again. What a relief.
I quite enjoyed this moving. I thought the acting was superb, I enjoyed the story-line, and I liked the switching of points of view and time points. My only criticsm is that the movie is adapted from a broadway play, and it feels like it is – a lot of the dialogue feels like it would work much better on the stage.
The movie is a little strange, though. It sort of leaves you hanging, not sure what to think, or how you feel about the characters, which I think it fair enough. Nothing in real life is black and white.

watched this for the second time today. (not like, twice today, but twice overall, and once today :))
first note—for those of you who said this movie was ‘depressing’...well i disagree. it wasnt happy-go-lucky but i wouldnt call it depressing either.
in other news…
I love this movie and highly recommend it. Everything is good: the plot, the acting, the dialogue, etc.
It did require a second viewing to completely follow it though, b/c it jumps time and only informs you subtly (which i like anyway)
i found the dialogue a little dirty for my taste, but the movie is so good that that can be easily overlooked.
i also have fallen in love with the song played in the beginning and end of the movie, and i think i might have to buy it!
well, i just dont know what else to say besides praising the movie a thousand times, and saying how much i love it love it love it! :)

This movie has quite possibly some of the most screwed up relationships ever. It’s amazing. The acting is great, and so is the dialogue. The plot is a little hard to follow, so it might be worth a repeat viewing.

I am not the type to see movies in theaters very often. (Especially not mainstream—as opposed to independent—movies.) However, after seeing this film, I quite literally returned to the theater eight times to see it again. When it came out on DVD, I bought it the first day and watched it repeatedly.
I have found that people either love or hate this film; there is little middle ground. I think the key to loving the movie is relating to one of the characters—even if the particular character you relate to doesn’t make out well in the end. (And really, do any of them?)
If you tell me you loved Closer, chances are you should be my friend—and that is not an invitation I make lightly.

I just watched it and was disappointed. What a soap opera! I thought it was pretty pointless and had no redeeming value. I watched the whole thing because I thought something would eventually happen. I don’t know that the two liars were any better than the two who told the truth. It’s just a movie that makes you mad at stupid people who stay in stupid relationships.

I was amazed by Natalie Portman’s performaning skills, not only in this movie, but also in Leon when she was only 15. The movie itself is a good realitic pic of love life, passionate but with lies. Somewhat depressing…
