WORTH CONSUMING!

I love this movie!!! The original soundtrac is killer, even the instrumental is beautiful. I much prefer the mystery of the original movie. It lets you kind of form you own conclusions, and isn’t that what art is about? Causing people to feel something and interpret it for themselves? Much better that way.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a really good, interesting movie, even with the gratuitous 80s sex and language. Lots of cool stuff about time travel.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Aside from being a sweeeet movie, the director’s cut has a commentary track with Kevin Smith.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This movie was just bad, enough said.

I happen to love the Directors Cut. I watched it before the original. I love them both individually. The music in the opening scene of the original, Echo and the Bunnymen, is better than the updated INXS music, otherwise, I do prefer the DC.

Awesome and astounding. I will ALWAYS be consuming this! It is a way of life.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

The director’s cut does a better job than the original of cutting through the mystery of exactly what’s going on around Donnie. But I liked the mystery in the original. The new ending in particular used one too many cliches that totally ruined the experience for me, even though the outcome was the same. Maybe if Kelly had put the extra material in throughout the movie but left the climax alone, I would have enjoyed this. As it stands, I prefer the original release.

Inferior to original. — 7 years ago

Crap compared to the original, but still worth watching. Not a true “Directors Cut” and goes against what I take the original to stand for.
