Once again, a group of people have gotten together to prove me wrong in thinking that there isn’t a damn thing on television worth watching. This show is amazing…I am humbled…again. The writers have refused to follow the usual TV path of kinder, gentler stories with happy endings; they’ve written in some hard choices for the characters and some suprising moments. Well done.

I had so far resisted watching this new incarnation of
Battlestar Galactica, since I just couldn’t warm up to the thought of a rehashed story.

But being at a sci-fi con this past weekend, with some of the actors being there, I got very intrigued, what I heard sounded very interesting.

So I went out today and got a copy of this initial mini series.

It’s good. It’s actually very very good. I’m impressed.

Now if the actual series can keep that up, I wonder, but I’ll get the first season at least to see.

But even if not, this mini series is really worth watching !

I recently rented this to lend it to JP—so I spent some downtime (I’ve a cold right now) watching the miniseries over. It’s really a great bit of work. Having watched through the beginning of Season 3, revisting the miniseries shows how carefully the writers setup the plot and character interplay. I think the miniseries may be my favorite part of the entire 3 seasons.

As Jason put it, “this is some of the best sci-fi to come out in years”.

I actually watched this when it first was on scifi channel. I kind of liked it, but was afraid to get too attached. Plus, I like to watch a show all at once, instead of waiting for the next installment. That is why I recommend watching the DVD. I did that recently and instantly loved it. Well, it helped that I actually knew that there was more where that came from, what with the TV show in it’s 2nd season (I didn’t have that comfort the first time I watched the mini series).

Surprisingly good sci-fi. The new twist: the Cylons look human. Very promising beginning.

Oh I am so hooked on this show. Can’t WAIT to find out what happens in Season II!
