Oh this was very, very good.

It’s a good sci-fi-ish idea; the productive values are very high; the cast and director are excellent… and yet… something just didn’t grab me about this.

If you haven’t seen the original then you don’t have a reference to what might have been. I never did. I thought this kept you fairly ungrounded through the film. Good musical/environmental score that really allowed my stress levels to stay elevated. Your milage as usual will vary, but if you have no prior expectations, like a good mental-ache-oedpius-politiko-aiee-film then it might be worth it. ;)

i couldn’t even get through to the end. somehow i’m thinking the original is better, but not going to find out.

I love Denzel; love Kimberly, but I tell you, they had to change up stuff and I couldn’t deal; Call me a stickler for the old, but I love the original!!
