WORTH CONSUMING!

This guy’s voice is like honey. So much so that I was singing along to “Number One” for a week before I realized it’s the cheaters’ national anthem. (Yeah, of all the songs on the album, why am I not surprised Kanye West chose to rap on that one?) My favorite track is “Ordinary People” because of how bare it is – just the piano and his voice.

This is a decent album, even if some of the lyrics sort of piss me off. It’s getting added to my guilty pleasure pile.

Random R&B cd that I love. He has a really great voice and nice piano work, and c’mon, Kanye ANDSNOOP are even thrown in there at some point. Favorite tracks: “I Don’t Have To Change”, “Live It Up.” (although I do not support his affair bullshit he sings about. say no to adultery!!)

WORTH CONSUMING!

In the over produced R&B arena, it’s always a pleasure to find a singer who relies on voice and instrument and John Legend certainly does that. There isn’t a single throwaway or filler track on this album and it is consistenly excellent throughout. Even if you don’t like soul music, this is an album you can get into because good music transcends genres. Highly recommended.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Damn this is a good album! I know I’m coming late to the game as half the world has already pointed out how great this album is. However, I was only recently introduced (as in I finally listened to some tracks) to ‘The Legend’ so I thought I’d give it a shout-out anyway. It is neo-soul with contemporary R&B flavoring (or the other way around). The sound is very organic, and John Legend is a great singer. Favorite tracks: “Ordinary People”, “Number One”, “It Don’t Have To Change”. If nothing else, “Ordinary People” is essential.
