Why I recommend this — 2 years ago
I’ve been a big fan of Tegan and Sara since their sophomore album, “This Business of Art”, came out several years ago. They were much folkier then. They’ve since progressed into snarky pop-rock. If you’re a purist and expect either “So Jealous” or the in-between “If It Was You” to sound anything like their first two albums, you may have a harder time enjoying their newer music.
However, if you take these on their own terms, you realize that they’re just plain old rockin’ fun. It’s hard not to enjoy “So Jealous”—where T&S have grown up a lot and are comparing the ups and downs of relationships and realizing there’s a lot to be learned from both. They’ve gained perspective since their younger days, and are every bit as awesome as they were when they were just the “folk-singing Canadian twins”.
