WORTH CONSUMING!

I still cried like a baby. This is the only movie EVER that never fails to make me cry. Hell, Gone With the Wind was awesome but the first time I saw it, it didn’t even make me cry.

A feel good film — 3 years ago

There’s nothing wrong with making a movie that makes people feel good, but I believe this film was probably more fun to make than it was to watch. The plot hangs on a weak premise…that a 13-year old might be able to survive a couple of weeks in a 30-year old body, as a high-level NYC editor no less, working for a magazine with a shrinking circulation of 600,000 and in cut-throat competition with a rival selling close to a million copies. Granted, the inherited body belongs to Jennifer Garner, but you need to really be willing to suspend disbelief to get into her angst at suddenly being launched into full-blown womanhood. It’s just a bit too much. And the supporting characters are one dimensional, especially the parents. But don’t take this film too seriously; it’s not meant to be. Just relax, feel good, and move on to some of Garner’s really memorable roles, like Electra.

Two things happen every time I watch this: I laugh throughout the whole thing, especially Jenna’s initial “wake-up” as a 30 year old, and then I cry like a baby towards the end. Such a genuine, fun movie.
