Why I want to consume this — 4 years ago
I’ve been thinking about buying one. They’re available at my local Korean grocery store, and always frozen.
It’s an odd looking (and apparently smelly) fruit.
I’m wondering how to prepare it. Tips?

Heard so many things about this fruit, that I just had to eat it. After putting it in my mouth I thought “why would I put something that smelled that BAD in my mouth?” Yes, it stinks and yet people still eat it. The odor is like rotting fruit, but the taste is something like warm yogurt that curdles in your mouth. Ugh! I wouldn’t eat it again, but am glad that I can check it off my list!
Before I’d eaten Durian I never thought I’d be capable of wishing for the extinction of a species. After a piece of Durian ruined my otherwise amazing dinner I am a changed man. I’ve never had anything more vile… except for the one time I had moth larvae in my Swiss Miss packets and I took a few down, but that doesn’t really count.
the smell and taste of this “fruit” haunts me. and not in a good way.
Hmm…I think I like Durian candy better than the real fruit.
Oh yes, and I often get teased because my name is similar to this stinky fruit.
