"Wow" isn't enough — 1 year ago
I’d rate Second Foundation as good – right now, in the euphoria that came from reading the last chapter, even better – than the original Foundation, which I already found mind-blowing.
This time, the Mule – and later, the Foundation – are on the hunt for the Psychologists of the Second Foundation. The Mule seeks them because they are the last world that stands in his path towards universal dominion. The Foundation seeks them because they fear the Second Foundation plans dominion over them through mind control. The overarching question is of course, where is the Second Foundation? They are armed with only two clues: it’s at the “opposite end” of the galaxy, at “Star’s End”.
The book introduces a few new engaging characters and the twists as the characters try to figure out the location of the Second Foundation are amazing. And the book manages to continue producing surprise right up to the very last line. Amazing. I am in complete awe of Asimov now.
