The Soul Sessions — 3 years ago
I’ve had Joss Stone’s second album, Mind, Body & Soul, for ages now, and I love it (I’m always burning a copy for someone). It was only a matter of time before I bought The Soul Sessions, her first album. So far as I’m concerned, there can’t be enough Joss Stone in the world. She has an incredible voice, and her lyrics have a maturity that belies her age. It’s also perfect music for a dinner party, or to chill out to. That said, I’m not sure there’s a whole lot of difference, stylistically, between her two albums – it would be nice to see her exploring new territory – but then again, she does it so well that it’s hard to fault her.
