A musical comedy that is filled with cinematic history and in-jokes about the transition of films from silent to sound. All of it is just a way to string together a series of remarkable dance sequences including the classic “Singin’ in the Rain” with Gene Kelley and the physically amazing “Make ’em Laugh” with Donald O’Connor. If you see one classic Hollywood musical, this is a good one to see.
Great singing, fabulous dancing, hilarious comedy, and a wonderful cast — what more could you ask for? Screenplay/film notes
