i feel like something is wrong with me because so many people liked this movie and i didn’t. i felt like it was an after school special, just longer and just as boring. it was kind of funny when i was watching the making of in the special features, where they were saying that they wanted to make a positive movie about latinos, and then they had that scene where she goes into the convenience store for a soda and they had this asian sterotype at the register. i feel like that scene should have been cut out, it had no point to it. i wasn’t deeply invested in the characters although the ending was touching.

I enjoyed the movie, but I think I would have been more emotionally moved if I were a single parent or a mom. Because I am neither, I had a hard time connecting with the characters.

meh. im talkin thorough meh. i dunno, i think this movie had great points, but in the end i just wasnt moved. i dont know why. there were some pacing issues, bad music choices, some dialogue problems, bad acting. i wouldnt not recommend this. but im not going to say its a waste of time.
