Greg’s entry describes exactly how I felt about this album.

I love “Jesus, Etc.” – it was the first song I ever heard by them and I fell in love with it. But too many of the songs end with annoyingly drawn out…stuff, and maybe to some people that’s cool and “experimental,” but I just think the whole thing is sort of inaccessible. I once listened to “Poor Places” while walking alone at night, and the voice at the end robotically repeating “Yankee. Hotel. Foxtrot.” creeped the heck out of me.

I wrote a full review at Amazon, but basically this just doesn’t have enough melodies that stick. 3 solid tunes (“Jesus,Etc.”,“Heavy Metal Drummer”,“I’m the Man Who Loves You”) and 1 that would be pretty good trimmed down (“Reservations”). I just can’t get into this one overall.
