Good - great, even - but not till the last drop. The last 5 minutes contains a totally unnecessary bit of business that insults the intelligence of everyone watching. Oh well.

Beautiful, subtle soundtrack (must get!) and incredibly lush visuals, saturated colors, etc. Now I want to live in Germany.

I liked how unrelentingly slow and measured the pace was, even though it made me kind of antsy at times.

I’ve only seen three films directed Tom Tykwer and two of them Run Lola Run and Heaven are two of my favourite films. Maybe if I hadn’t recently seen “Heaven” I would have liked The Princess and the Warrior a bit more, but I didn’t. It felt a bit contrived and a bit too long. It’s not a bad film and there were some great moments and very nice visual elements in it, but overall it didn’t blow me away as Tykwer’s other films have.
