this concert movie made me fall in love with david gray. i remember it vividly. i was unemployed for a stretch and entertained myself flipping through satellite tv. i hit mtv 2 and this sound was coming out of my tv that was just incredible. i had no idea who this guy was but the sound hit me to the bone.

but it was when david sat down to the piano and played “this years love,” that my love for david became sealed. i had just gotten divorced and the hope tempered by past pain in that song hit my right in the gut, deep where it knocks the wind out of you.

i have loved him ever since, and i love this concert at the point for introducing him to me.
