Christina organized a screening of Napoleon Dynamite this evening, and I went along. I’d never seen Napoleon Dynamite before – mainly because I was pretty sure I didn’t want to see it – but felt that I was out of the loop (it seems like everyone I know – admittedly a bunch of nerds – has seen it). I spent a childhood being out of the loop with TV and movies, it’s not necessarily something that I want to continue into my adulthood!

To my surprise, I really enjoyed it – something about the triumph of the unpopular, I think. I mean, these are my people (it’s not a co-incidence that I received an email today regarding a casting call for Beauty and the Geek. And they weren’t looking for Beauties. If I’m being honest, they weren’t looking for women at all.)

This is definitely the worst movie ever.

I do not understand the big hoopla about this movie. I did not like it at all. It was incredibly lame.

I really did not care for this movie. Perhaps I’m not a member of the target audience, whatever that may be, but I thought it was creepy and boring.

If you’ve watched any kind of quality independent movies, you’ll find this lame. Lame, lame, lame. I rate this down with Gigli as one of the most lacking films in existence.

A classic as soon as it was released. Just TRY and stop quoting from this film.

This movie gets better everytime i watch it! I remember the first time i watched it seemed a little slow but it gets faster every viewing.

It was cute. Not horrible, but not that great. The pace was so slow. Meh.

This movie is awesome. Ive got the song [which is called canned heat], a wristband, and magnets of it. I’ve got a ringtone of it that rings and then says fricken idiot. sooo hilarious…

The whole point is that it’s stupid. If you don’t get that, then you need to pull the stick out of your bum and get over yourself. If you don’t find random stupidity funny, save the time and money and go watch something else.

This movie has some funny quotes (almost as good as the old Monty Python movies). Finally an non animated movie you can watch with your kids.

so i decided to give this movie another try. such a mistake. it didn’t get better the second time around.

And that’s even considering things like Dude, Where’s My Car? and The Road to Wellville.

Seriously. Horrible, horrible, horrible movie. So stupid and uninteresting I’d rather have pulled my fingernails out one by one with a rusty pair of needlenose pliers JUST TO HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO BUT WATCH THIS CRAP.

All the money in the world couldn’t make me watch this again. In fact, maybe the CIA could use it as a torture device to weasel information out of the enemy.

It was OK, not sure I like it as much as some people. It’s very quotable though

This movie is awesome! I’ve seen it three times already since I first watched it on Christmas Eve… Sweet…

My first gut reaction was: This was the worst movie I’ve ever seen. Then after I was done, I realized, the genius of it. It was so stupid that it went all the way around the meter and came back to good again. You find yourself having more fun quoting the movie than actually watching it. It strangely gets funnier the second time you watch it.

This is one of my all time fave films, up there with anchorman and anything by kevin smith.

Everytime i watch this film it gets funnier and funnier!

This is pretty much one of my favorite movies.
Gosh. My husband does some great impressions. The dance is flippin sweet!

I love this movie. The first time I watched it, I thought it was funny and slightly painful. The second time I watched it, I thought it was even funnier. The third time I watched it.. and so on and so on. We just keep watching it. My 5 year old son can quote this movie. I love Napoleon, and I love to watch people watch it for the first time. It is a litmus test for me to give to people.
