A great story, but it has a clunky interface — 1 year ago
The Feeble Files has a great storyline. You play as an alien named Feeble who’s job is to create crop circles in farmer’s fields on Earth. Throughout the course of the game, you go from a model citizen to a rebel who is intent on uncovering the true nature your the government: one who forces all it’s citizens to be obedient and docile and punishes those who have any form of independent thought.
The voice acting is supurb, and the art is wonderful. It is presented in an early form of 3D, sort of a combination between two dimensional and polygonal graphics. Regardless of the graphic choices, the game is still a sidescrolling point and click adventure game, but the interface leaves a lot to be desired. Everything is done through the use of Feeble’s communication device, and it can become quite tedious to have to go into the device to do even the most simple of tasks. When I got through with the game it felt more like a chore than anything else. It’s a shame too – with a more typical point and click interface such as those used in Adventuresoft’s previous Simon the Sorcerer games, this could have been one of my favorite adventure games. As it stands, it is a game that I am glad that I played, but one that I am unlikely to ever play again.
