An excellent movie with a touch of boring — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

The good:

Unique, special, emotional, the atmosphere, the acting, the directing, the way the lively city comes to life yet the characters “sadness” shines through, how much is said in so few words.

The bad:

Slightly boring, not that much happening, could have used a more cathcing story.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Really wonderful performance by Bill Murray, as usual. This is a beautifully crafted film; it surprised me because I’d heard many negative reviews. I’m glad I finally got around to viewing it – highly recommended!

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

One of the most boring movies I’ve ever seen. I like Bill Murray, but even he was not enough to save this movie as far as I’m concerned. I usually like movies about unusual friendship/relationships, but this was just so slow and pointless and not even in a good way. It’s very unlikely I’d ever bother to watch this again unless I had a full pitcher of margaritas nearby to dull the pain.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Lost In Translation made me feel as if I were a stranger in a strange land like the main characters, Bob and Charlotte. It was a film that immersed me in a relationship outside of the normal routines of life. It was a quiet film that stays with me for days after each viewing.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Overall it was just plain boring. Seeing Tokyo was cool. I don’t know what all the fuss was about when it came out. The story dragged at the beginning and I wasn’t to impressed with the character buildup.

Didn't see what all the fuss was about — 6 years ago

this was visually a beautiful interesting movie, but I just wasn’t that intrigued by the characters. it was nice to see a story about, essentially, a platonic affair (this is probably giving the film away, sorry) but I would give it about three out of five stars, maybe
