Aaaaack! If I could find my remote for the DVD player, I could actually watch this AND understand it,but alas!—no remote, no English subtitles. What is it they sing about a-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-a-a-t-i-o-n?

Dad commands the film, his relationships are the best – with his old pal, with the kid, with the neighbors. Repressed daughter is also nice . . .

Blah. Poorly shot, poorly acted, poorly edited. Could of been better. Could of been worse.

We watched this in one of my asian studies classes. I loved it. It sort of chronicles a family through food, and the place of food in their culture. Great movie.

Second viewing; just as good as the first.
