WORTH CONSUMING!

I honestly didn’t know Katherine Hepburn could be funny. This film is full of completely unnecessary scenes and silly dialogue, but that’s exactly why I love it. I mean, Jimmy Stewart opening his coat to show the butler he isn’t hiding the silver…

Cary Grant thaws long enough to give some warm performances, but the women in the cast really shine, Hepburn especially.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s a wonderful romantic comedy, with excellect acting, crisp dialog, and plenty of little twists/turns to keep the audience watching each frame. It has been said that this film saved Katherine Hepburn’s career. It certainly showcased Jimmy Stewart’s talent (and his character is supposedly from my hometown in Indiana … too funny). The hook at the beginning is Cary Grant leaving Hepburn prior to their divorce. When he pushes her to the floor, you think he’s a cad and want to know the back story. Had me thinking of Clark Gable’s exit from the mansion in Gone with the Wind. Bravo!

WORTH CONSUMING!

Jimmy Stewart’s comedic timing is brilliant throughout this movie. The scene where he has a bit too much champagne and decides to visit Cary Grant is just hilarious.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This all-star adaptation (with Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart and Katharine Hepburn) is one that lives up to its billing. Great characters, sparkling dialogue and wonderful battles of wits.
