That’s what I’ve always told people about this album. “If you’re gonna have just one Clash album, get London Calling.” Hell, I use to say that when I was wearing out the vinyl.

It’s got some of the biggies on it that most anyone would / should recognize - London Calling, Spanish Bombs, Guns of Brixton - but it has my favorite sleeper, Train in Vain, as well.

It drifts in and out of my playlists these days, but it’s never out for very long.

The Clash: London Calling

The Clash is a standard standing alone. Few bands have enough impact to define their genera, a generation, and even generations to come. With [i]London Calling[/i], The Clash changed the world.

It comes down this: everyone who loves music should own this album.

Damn this is a great album – one of the best of all time. If Rolling Stone asked me for my top 100 albums, this would have a very low number. I hadn’t listened to this for years, and I just ran across the CD (I had the double album on vinyl in my youth!), which I popped into the cd player in my truck.

This should be required listening in the public schools.
