WORTH CONSUMING!

This is my favourite Kevin Smith movie, mainly as it was the one I felt the most affinity with. I had a boyfriend break up with me due to a past that he couldn’t deal with. (Admittedly it wasn’t anywhere near as colourful as Allysa’s) and this movie came out about 6 months after that happened to me. It actually makes me cry (and laugh) every time I watch it I think Silent Bob’s “Chasing Amy” speech is one of the most touching speeches I have seen in a movie. I found this movie helped me look into my pain, and realise that age and love can alter your life.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Chasing Amy is my favorite of the Kevin Smith movies, and it really helped me through some tough times. Seeing a love like Holden and Alyssa had makes me feel like maybe love could exist. Banky’s pure, innocent, unnoticed love of Holden is so beautiful. Even though none of it works out in the end, I was still left with a sense of hope. When my best friend told me I had to choose between her and my boyfriend, this movie helped me. Alyssa’s monologue about the true nature of love and the limits of nature helped me come to grips with my own sexuality. Chasing Amy really helped me learn things about myself and the world that I will keep with me forever.

WORTH CONSUMING!

While I’m not a huge fan of the other Kevin Smith movies, I absolutely loved this one. It’s a great alternative for all those who (like me) can’t stand those Sleepless in Seattle and City of Angels hokey romantic movies, but are still interested in seeing a movie that explores the topic of love.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Kevin Smith’s universe. This sure showed me how I’ve so not gone far off the beaten path with contemporary movies!

Ben Affleck doing a creditable acting job?? If he’s not careful he’s gonna go through a crappy phase like Kevin Costner did. Affleck, do more films with Smith.

A love story better than almost all the usual love stories it subverts.

WORTH CONSUMING!

this used to be my least favourite kevin smith movie, but now… well, it’s hard to rate them. i never saw ‘jersey girl’ and don’t want to so… but anyway, i don’t know why i love all his movies. jay and silent bob help. there’s humourous and intelligent dialogue, and this is before i hated ben affleck. :) he used to be cool.
