Musically, I liked it…obviously it’s Bowie’s turn toward a more “new wave” sound with synths playing a prominent role. But lyrically, well, nothing that stuck with me like “Space Oddity” or “Kooks” or “Ziggy Stardust” or “Heroes” or well, like any of the 70s era Bowie classics. “Sound and Vision” came closest to me actually liking it, but still it left me with kind of a “meh” feeling.

This album is worth getting just to hear Subterraneans. Amazing.

I’ve started reviewing my old Bowie collection. Low was always one of my favorites, and it still is. You probably can think of that one artist or group who’s sound instantly transports you back to more youthful and less complicated times. Bowie is that guy for me, especially his stuff from the mid to late 70’s.
