This has been my favorite album of all times since 1996. i lived in states and heard of Alanis all the time, but never bought the cd. then before leaving i did and loved it completely! generally i find it really difficult to listen to albums from beginning to the end, i think its boring and most of the time songs are too similar to each other. i always prefer mixes or soundtracks. but this album is one of the few ones that does not bore me—its just the best!

i love it. remember the year it first came out, my dad bought it, i listened to it over and over. the intensity in her voice in you oughta know was so inspiring. gave me a sense of freedom and the openness to being angry. and then i met the rest of the album and LOVED it. that was many years ago and i was only young. i recently read her biography Jagged, which inspired me to listen to the cd again, and i have to say. i STILL love it. shes an amazing artist. props to alanis for such a universal, timeless and personal album!
Alanis always has witty lyrics, and the songs on this album are no exception. They’re a pleasure to listen to, both for the words and for the tunes themselves. My personal favorites are “Narcissus” and “Utopia.”

Sentimental value. First album I ever bought.
