WORTH CONSUMING!

I haven’t seen the one from a few years back (yet), but I really enjoyed this one. It started rather slowly, but by the end I was gripped by the emotional journey the characters were on. In fact, I liked it better than Iron Man.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I might have enjoyed this more if I hadn’t just seen and lurved Iron Man. This just lacks the humour and sense of fun that I enjoyed so much. And as many reviews have said, Hulk just isn’t the most interesting of ‘superheroes’.

That said, the movie was done reasonably well. Edward Norton plays the tortured side of Bruce Banner very well, and Tim Roth does a nice line in quietish psychopathy. Liv Tyler needs to stop thinking a breathy little voice is conveying anything at all!

But the cast weren’t really the point: the sfx were. And I’m glad to report that Hulk looks a bit more impressive that in the last outing and unlike the previous one, you actually get to see him in daylight! J will be pleased :)

So, alright, but perhaps just not as much my cup of tea as other comic adaptations. I’m thoroughly liking all the cross-overs, though (Tony Stark makes an appearance at the end), and the way these films are all set in the same world – bring on the next one, then!

WORTH CONSUMING!

interesting. there seems to be a specific style theyre going for in these newest marvel flicks, and i like it. this iteration of the hulk felt much more like the tv show than anything else, and was very aware of itself. ed norton is of course perfect. liv tyler…ehhh…she’s just not a good actress. the first line she delivers everyone i was sitting with just laughed. but still, not terrible. williams hurt is pretty good, but underutilized in general (ha). and tim roth is also a bit one-dimensional, but still fun.
theyre in full ramp up mode for the avengers, with captain america, thor, and even ant-man movies reportedly in the chute. if theyre all of this caliber, i say bring em on.
