WORTH CONSUMING!

Over all a pretty good read. I wouldn’t include it in the top 100 books i’ve ever read. I think the story ran a little slow and the characters for the most part seemed to lack many angles to their personality, probably because of the times they lived in. Which leads me to the one reason I did like the book. The abilty to see the social constrictions that people of that day had to live within was quite interesting.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I picked this book up in London’s Heathrow airport on my way back to the states quite some time ago. I nearly completed the book before I landed in the US. This has become one of my favorite books of all time.

The characters and dialog in the book are fantastic. I’ve enjoyed the movie adaptations mostly because they have kept so much of Jane Austin’s original dialog in them. Of course the movies have to abridge the dialog, but the parts which remain are virtually unchanged.

I like to think of myself as a poorer version of Mr. Darcy. I’m not particularly out going, but I try to always be a gentleman. I used to think I’ve could find a Victorian wife and bring her back to ‘Pemberley’, and life happily ever after.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Couldn’t put it down – engaging, romancic and quixotic from the beginning (though I do warn its a better read for a girl I think… unless a guy is trying to understand women better or something – a noble persuit, btw)

WORTH CONSUMING!

I recommend this book, not because it is superbly written, but because it is a classic. It’s a long, dry read but romantic none-the-less. I wouldn’t recommend a forced reading (nor a book club reading) but a reading that you can take time with it. Perhaps this book is better in movie form. That’s my next goal—to pit the book against the movie version.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I loved this book, Ive read it twice and probaly will again. As much as it includes a love story I was more interested in the interactions between characters and even though this book was written so long ago alot of human characteristics remain. But it does also give a single girl hope in love and poses the question could it be the guy you already know?

I read this every year. It’s probably my favorite book of all time. It helps to keep me believing in true love and gentlemen.
