A story about this — 1 year ago
I wathced this movie because it is listed on several lists as a classic. It was on TCM and right before the movie, they gave a little context about the film. It was released during the 30s, with post-Hitler Europe. The plot of the film is about a ruler of a country and consequently there is a lot of political satire of that time. I think I appreciated the movie more because I knew this. It helped me watch the film and try and think of what life was like during that time.
The was the first Marx Brothers movie I have watched all the way through. There is alot of slapstick and whitty humor. I laughed out loud at least ten times.
The movie is only about an hour and a half. I think it is worth watching for all movie loves, just to go back and time and get familiar with they style of these Hollywood legends.
