WORTH CONSUMING!

Yes, I am a latecomer to this party, not being much of a reader of children’s books or insanely popular bestsellers, but it kept showing up on too many reading lists to be ignored any longer. While I thought it was just OK, I can see why it appeals so strongly, particularly to young readers. The outcast geeky boy who is actually a highly talented wizard is highly relateable to any awkward adolescent, and the Hogwarts setting, with its innumerable ghosts and secret passageways, is an appealing place to escape to. I doubt I’ll read any more in this series, but I’ll put this in my son’s library, and I’m sure he’ll appreciate it much more than I did when he’s old enough to read it.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is amazing work! I hope it really takes off. Who knows, maybe they’ll make a movie and some action figures. I hope this becomes a classic. I couldn’t believe how good it really is! I know I am probably the only person who has read this book, but take my word for it- it’s great! An all-time classic. I just hope people will read it!

I re-read this as a part of this goal Re-read the Harry Potter books before the launch of Harry Potter 7

Still good and worth reading again.

WORTH CONSUMING!

The first part of the book was pretty slow, but the story picks up once Harry makes it to school.

I am more of a Lemony Snicket fan and not into the extreme fantasy. I thought the movies were better than the books.

I know we saw the movie, but i feel like i’d read the book before, too. Perhaps the movie was so loyal to the book that i found the scenes so familiar?

Anyhow, this was a book on the trade table at work that provided a nice light diversion on Saturday.
