Fabulous. I can’t say enough good things about this book. Schultz was a master of his craft, and of the 731 comics in this collection, there were perhaps one or two that were less than great. I just love the way the Peanuts gang are used to provide social commentary and to entertain.
As for the physical book: again, fabulous. Very attractive and sturdy cover, nice binding, and nice heavy paper. The page layout was also very good, with ample margins. I’d’ve preferred a slightly taller book, but given the 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+3 strip heights in a week, it’s hard to imagine what could be done, other than reorder the Sundays (bleh!).
The introduction made for a nice read, and the back material with large prints and a truly comprehensive index (I looked up “washer-woman’s elbow” as a test, and it passed) are just icing on the cake. So far, the book of the year. (I know, I finished it in early January, but still.)
