WORTH CONSUMING!

I really enjoy reading restaurant reviews, moreso when I might visit
the restaurants. However, one thing that upsets me about my local reviewer’s review is that he’s supposed to be anonymous, but for some reason
always seems to end up having involved conversations with the
owners/chefs/managers. I suspect he’s not as anonymous as he lets on.
So, I really enjoyed the story of Ms. Reichl’s disguises and how the
staff’s attitudes (and the food) changed depending on who she
was. More interesting were her accounts of how she changed
depending on who she was.
She has a nice writing style, and I really enjoyed the food
talk. Read it.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book proves that the philisophical question “What is the nature of the self?” can affect our lives and how we are treated in fancy-pants restaurants.

An interesting look into the “other side” of restaurant critics.

WORTH CONSUMING!

While her first book was a glimpse at the author’s bizarre family life, and the second a veritable food-world soap opera, “Garlic and Sapphires” is a delicious mystery that continues Reichl’s journey of self discovery.

I really enjoyed this book, although it isn’t as good as her first two.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’ve read her two other books and liked them, and this was just as good. It’s something you never think about, restaurant critics & how they do their job exactly. I definitely never thought costumes and acting came into it!
