The story idea is interesting, but it just doesn’t hold the attention. It was on TV and I kept zapping away. I don’t think it’s the acting. Admittedly I’m not a big Costner fan and Jennifer keeps getting stuck in these Rachel like rolls. But in this case I think the plot is to blame. I can’t even point out something that is specifically bad about the plot because I just couldn’t be bothered to invest in it that much.

If you want a chick flick, watch Pretty Woman (again).

This was a pretty entertaining movie, but it probably won’t change your life. There were a few parts that should have been dramatic that just fell flat. But I did love this line by Jennifer Aniston’s character:

I didn’t come here to tell you I can’t live without you. I can. But I don’t want to.

That’s how you know it’s real. When the initial euphoria has worn off and you still want to be around.

This was a fine movie. Not great but not bad. It’s supposed to be the story of the family behind The Graduate – i.e., Mrs. Robinson. That seems like a kind of clever idea, but the movie is pretty unremarkable and predictable anyway.

Being a Jennifer Aniston fan, I was so happy when this movie came out. It’s a very lighthearted and funny, and it’s perfect for a Sunday afternoon in bed with popcorn and candy!
