A relatively boring book, the author has a way of taking up pages on a subject whose salient facts should only take a few sentences. For the most part you can skip the chapters in the first section and just read the last one to get the idea. If you’re interested in how complex systems develop from simple rules, I’d recommend Emergence by Steven Johnson instead.

I’m torn! It’s got to go back to the library because of the queue of people waiting, but I don’t really think it’s worth $45. Still, I wanna browse it some more. So I guess I’ll get back in the queue…
