WORTH CONSUMING!

Mesmerizing. How anyone could accomplish what Bauby did with just one eye left unparalyzed is beyond me. When he “speaks,” his first words are “I want death.” To go from that to this film is monumental, and the cinematography is spot on. The language barrier was traversed on many levels, too. Well done.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Beautiful as only the French can do about someone paralyzed from head to toe and told from that perspective.

WORTH CONSUMING!

as amazing as this story was, and as amazing as it was presented, i felt strangely unmoved at the end. exquisitely cast, but..i dont know if his infidelity made me less sympathetic, or the fact that i had heard so much about this movie that by the time i actually saw it i was unsurprised by what happened and was more interested in how it was presented, which was gorgeous. either way, i didnt feel emotionally invested in any of the characters, and didnt really feel sad at all at the end. it really surprised me.

still though, this is a great movie, hopeful yet not cheezy. go see
