I saw Mostly Martha a few years ago. This is exactly the same movie but spoken in English instead of German. It’s still a good movie, but was there really a need to make this version? Is there added value? Couldn’t they just have slapped subtitles on the German one and released it in the US like that? US movie industry has a weird attitude about “foreign” movies imho.

I expected a really cheesy movie (no that there’s anything wrong with that!) with a big focus on the love story, but I was actually very pleasantly surprised by the story about the main character Kate and her niece. It was very sweet and dealt very well with the death of a parent – I actually found myself crying a lot of times during the movie. Kate’s struggle to become a mother to Zoe was very believable too. Abigail Breslin is amazing as usual.
