Why I recommend this — 2 years ago
This book is good, even if you’re not the graphic novel type. It’s the story of three Adolfs: Adolf Hitler (who is more of a presence in the book than a character), Adolf Kaufmann (the half German-half Japanese son of a Nazi diplomat), and Adolf Kamil (his Jewish best friend) in the years leading up to World War II in Japan. It’s action-packed, with a bit of intrigue surrounding the murder of a drunken geisha and a scandalous rumour about Hitler.
At first I found it a bit weird to be reading a historical story with Astro Boy-looking characters, but eventually I just got used to it and got wrapped up in the story.
On to part two...
