WORTH CONSUMING!
A very charming book that looks at the culinary monstrousities of the 1940s-60s. Back then, cook books were awful and or way to simple, and the food styling industry needed major help. The book puts a humorous slant on those. My favorite is the book’s look at the theme cookbooks, which usually were less that 100pgs and looked like a readers digest. Often it was a ploy to get people to start cooking with bananas or bisquick.
I’ve started collecting some of these gems of my own!
