Nazi Propaganda — 1 year ago
This movie is a Nazi Propaganda film made in 1943 that pretty much blames the sinking on Ismay and the Englishman’s desire for money above all else. Intending to be used as a propaganda film, they decided not to show it because of the death and it was thought lost. It obviously was not.
The movie actually is not that bad. In German so in subtitles and enjoyable if you can get over a “hatred” for the stance taken. There is one German on crew, the 1st officer, is the most upstanding and nobel man in the world probably, definitely the ship.
Interesting take and probably not all false in terms of who deserves blame. This is a good film to see how historical eras shape movie making. It can also be showed for the reverse on how movies and other media shape the minds of the audience. Political Science classes can go nuts with this film.
