WORTH CONSUMING!

I really enjoyed the tone and writing style. The style is very easy to read. But the tone of the characters is very interesting as an American with Swedish heritage. You really pick up on the Swedish temperment. And while I did get this sense reading it on my own, it was confirmed by my Swedish friend, who also lent me the book in the first place.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I liked this a lot more than the previous reader (good proofreading, by the way) – I was in the mood for a new mystery series, and really liked the tone and style of this one – the unfamiliar setting and existential tone made me want to read more of the other Kurt Wallander mysteries.

Not the sort of thing I normally read, and definitely not the sort of thing I would ever read v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y, three times, if I weren’t being paid for it, . . . but as it happens, I was being paid for it (proofreading). It’s okay, I guess, if you like mysteries. I didn’t always find the actions or italicized thoughts of the protagonista convincing—unless she’s just not terribly bright, which is certainly possible—but in general I’d say the story is plausible and realistic, and the writing is clear.
