WORTH CONSUMING!

I got a chance to see a special showing of Open Season and found it to be a decent movie. It follows your typical computer animation, kid flick, formula: hero is living the good life…finds a friend…gets in trouble…friend tries to help…gets mad at friend…realize you like friend…confrontation with bad guy…happy, happy, happy ending – with a few doses of action, cool soundtrack and plenty of potty humor. Toy Story, Madagascar, Cars…you get the drift.

What I did like was the voice performances from Martin Lawrence and Ashton Kutcher. They worked well together (for some bizarre reason) A highlight was the character McSquizzy (voiced by Billy Connolly) who should get a spin-off movie doing a comedy version of Braveheart staring only squirrels. Also worth noting was some great CG work especially on the animal fur and hair – the detail was amazing.
