Glorious low-budget love-story — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A radiating low-budget love-story that follows Zia, a guy who starts the film by killing himself, then turning up at the afterlife, missing his girlfriend who isn’t there. He joins with Eugene, who is a Russian guy who has nothing better to do, and goes on a search, where they mix up with Mikal, a girl who wants to meet “the people in charge of this place”, as she claims to be there but didn’t kill herself. This film could easily have turned into a nightmare, but Goran Dukic – writer, director, actor in this film – is really good. The tale incorporates lovely bitter-sweet moments to make you laugh, sad and amazed. The characters are archetypical, but thanks to the good dialogue and twisting story, are kept alive (pun intended) and interesting. Add good music, a good slab of black irony and Tom Waits (!) and you’ve got yourself a deal. I want a lot more from this director in the near future!
