WORTH CONSUMING!
Georgette Heyer is by far my favourite writer of historical fiction. Her settings are believable, her characters delightful and three-dimensional, her plots cleverly devised.
In this story, the orphaned Kitty is made the heir of her guardian… on condition that she marries one of his great-nephews. She does rather like one of them, but he doesn’t turn up at her guardian’s summons…
Lots of humour, brilliant characterisation, and a most satisfying conclusion. Highly recommended.
