Ruth Rendell has a way of repeating things that she really wants to hit home and that can be kind of annoying – there were a couple of things repeated here again and again (But if she didn’t kill him, why was she so wet when she came down the stairs? Is written in just about every chapter) – but still, I love her and I loved this book. Gripping, fun stuff.
