watched at my girlfriends insistence, she acted surprised that i hadnt seen it before.
it actually took three tries to watch this movie. first she fell asleep, even though i wanted to watch it. the second time was with friends and after about 30 min we just needed to do other things. finally the same group of friends got together and finished it.
visually, it doesnt look like anything else. its reminiscent of dr seuss, but is entirely unique. it looks like a moving picture book, with bizzare creatures and contumes.
i was surprised at how much i ended up liking the story. at first it just seemed like another half-baked trippy movie, but the overall story is good.
i dont know if this is supposed to be a kids movie or not. i cant imagine americans showing this children this, but maybe those crazy frenchmen.
this is a good experience, and gets better as it goes along. its obviously inspired by just a few really good acid trips, but consider it proof that not all ideas while tripping are bad. watch this is youre a fan of any kind of drug culture movies, or just interesting cartoons. its actually a good movie.
